Mount Zalagh
Introduction to the Gallery: Mount Zalagh
The slopes of Mount Zalagh 2,729 feet (832 meters) start immediately where the terribly polluted streams called Oued Zbal and Oued Tghat join up on their way to the Sebou. The mountain creates a majestic and somewhat romantic backdrop for the ancient Medina. A road (R501) wends its way up the side of the mountain en route to the village of Karia Be Mohammed. At the point where the highway is highest there is a smaller road that takes you closer to the peak, however it deteriorates as you approach the summit. Extraordinary views of the Medina, the Middle Atlas and the countryside to the north.
